Ahh #2 is what I call a PROPER engine 8) 8) 8)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

BTW its the first time that I seen #3, wonder how much HP can you get out of that thing Roll Eyes

Not that I'm an authority on engines but it's listed on the placard as a Siddeley-Deasy Puma. This was rated at 230 hp. http://100.rolls-royce.com/people/view.jsp?id=144

wow, very different engine formats there.

you have a Raidial (looks like an R-12 or R-14);
a V formated 12
an inline
then a jet

A nice selection.
The radial is the good old Bristol Hercules sleeve-valve.
The V-12 is the legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin.
I've already described the Puma & the Rolls-Royce Trent 800 powers many current airliners. The later Trent 1000 will be fitted to the Boeing 7E7. Wink
