Just some pics I took down around the Danville area, a couple weeks ago... These were taken with a disposable camera, so please excuse the quality.
Can someone tell me how a Nazi Buzz Bomb comes to be outside a Middle school in an Illinois town of about 2000 people? 8)
I was looking for Warbirds, at least I found part of one.
The maddening part was knowing there was a Corsair and a Mustang locked up in that hanger, just out of my reach!
I did find this static display, which was kind of cool... If you look close, you can just make out the Mustang wing to the right of the two white fuel storage tanks. 8)
More to follow...

They are lucky that I wasn't there, if I ever meet the guy, I would beat the living daylight outta him

Actually, the Mustang flies. These wings are take offs. I don't think he's going to use them. On the same airport, there is a Mustang Restoration place. That's all they do is restore Mustangs...

That's allright, we have what used to eb an old firestation down the road abut a mile from here, and the place is fenced in, and leaning up against the one wall is a complete set of wings for an avenger....
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the rest of the plane is stored inside there as well...
I keep wanting to buy it and restore it, but I'm sure they know how much it is worth and wouldn't sell it to me cheaply..

Nice stuff Kevin, pity you couldn't get into that hangar though...

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
