Many times I try to use the download real weather in FS2002. But most of the time it gives me a message that says that the server has timed out or the conection was reset and then stops. Sad I use a 56k modem. Has anyone had this happen before? Is there an easier way to download real weather from the site?

To tell you the truth your not missing much at all....other than some winds...the weatehr for FS2002 is prettty bad...it isn't realistic at all....when flying your computer has to load each time it goes to a new section.

I don't use it that much either because I like to keep as many recources free as possible.

The way I understand it, the prog downloads weather for the whole world and, if you keep the connection open, it updates it from time to time.  I don't keep the connection open.  I just download the weather once then close it.  If I try to force an update I get the same problem you get (I have DSL).

If you can get that first download, and you should be able to see it happen, you don't need to keep the connection open for updates.  If that isn't working see what options the configuration screen offers.
