Well have you checked it out yet?
I'm talking about Alter Bridge.
The newly released album One Day Remains, Creed without Stapp.
Well I had to get it, I always liked Creed although Scott Stapp's voice can get irritating I have always thought that musically they were great.
Reviews said that the band wanted to get to a more hard rock sound, in my opinion Weathered was pretty heavy and some songs not having the Creed kindness to them , Bullets comes too mind.
Well this album doesn't sound like Creed but Creed is definately there, many songs have a reminders of who this band was and that is something they can't get rid of.
The new singer is a lot better to listen too, but on a few songs he tries to add his own form of "Stapp" too them, which in no means he has too, his singing voice is fine without trying to shadow someone else.
Another cool album I picked up was Crossfade.
Who? you might ask Same here ,never heard of them but that is what I like about bands like that the cds are cheap so if they suck you aren't out huge amounts of cash. But this band sounds pretty cool. Seems that some of the newer bands are realizing that there is too much cookie-cutter crap on the shelves and are finally starting to break away from the format, lets hope!!
And to speak 80's metal, Krokus has a new album!!!!! Haven't heard it yet but as soon as i see it I'll buy! We need the return of METAL!!!!
Maiden is still recording, Van Halen has returned, Metallica is still trying to recoupe from St. Mistake, WASP is trying a comeback, Annihilator just released a greatest hits, and on and on, the future seems bright!!
Due this week is the new Saliva, just recently started listen too them, pretty good. The new song on the radio sounds like it might be worth checking out. CLick, CLick Boom is a great soundtrack to some aerobatic flying in the sim!!!
Well what so you think? heard any of the above? Even care? Let me know!
