The attack command for your wingmans always confused me for a bit when commanding your wingman to engage in a dogfight.

You select a target and then hit 'a' to attack.  So everyone will attack that one target.  Is there a way for your wingman to attack the best suitable target?

WHen you dont select a target then give the attack command, what happens?

Thanks

They attack the mission objective. Once that is gone they attack anything they like the look of.

So if you highlight a certain target and tell them to attack, they will only target the mission objective?

ANd if the objective is complete and you tell them to attack your selected target, will they then attack the specific one you tell them?

Thanks again.

If you highlight a target and tell them to attack they will continue to attack that target intill it's destroyed.

If you don't highlight a target then they will go after the mission objective or the most serious threat (i.e. enemy fighters).

So if you want them to attack a target of your choice, highlight it, and tell them to attack. If you want them to do their own thing, tell them to attack with out a target highlighted. Wink

Actually if you have a flight of several aircraft you can have them attack several targets at once.

Highlight one target, give the attack command, and two of your wingmen will pair off and attack it, the others will stay with you.

Highlight another target, give attack command, another two will peel off, and so on until you are left with your own wingman, and he can also be sent to attack, or stay covering you.

This is ideal in CAS missions as having a flight of 8 bombers attack a single objective is a waste of good HE...

to get the wingman to attack a specific target first target it with "Tab" the padlock it with "`" the tilde key while in cockpit mode then select attack and two wingman will attack the target

don't forget to padlock with the tilde key while in  cockpit view or they will just attack whatever the mission is
