I am a novice sim pilot.  I am using a Sidewinder 3D Pro.  I have never been able to get the stick twist to work the rudder controls. ???

Anyone have any insight on getting this done.

I downloaded the latest drivers and patches from Microsoft, but that only suceeded in removing my stick from the Control Panel and causing me hours of pain that I could have been using to learn to fly. Undecided

Thank you for your help. Smiley

Thank you for your reply.  It did not work.  The problem I am having is not being able to assign the stick twist to work the rudders.  For some reason the software does not recognize the capibiltiy of the joystick.

I can work the rudders with the keyboard, but not the stick.

Thanks for tyring.  Any other ideas?

Have u selected the right joystick in your control panel? maybe you have selected the standard M$ joystick which doesn't have the twist.  Ensure it says that a M$ Sidewinder pro is 'Active' and that its all calibrated correctly.

I tell ya, messing with that Control Panel scares the heck out of me.  It seems every time I touch it, afterwards, it can not find my joystick and I have to spend hours trying to fix it.

I am wondering if I need to select the check box for rudders/peddles?

Thanks again for your help.

Don't be scared, just go there and select the correct stick! Windows installs the software automatically usually.

My MS Sidewinder 3D Pro Plus configures as a Sidewinder Precision Pro in "control panel / gaming options"

Test it there in gaming options, and see if it shows the yaw axis in the test setup, if it doesn't, try selecting another similar stick from the list. If it still won't work, the stick may be faulty or you have a conflict/driver issue.
