Kevin, did you check your gas gauge? Maybe you have a leak. If your battery is dead, I can swing by a bit later. I am just sitting on the shore of Key West waiting for the storm!  8)

Nope, this one is serious.  I have wracked my brains out working on it and no joy.  I have re-installed, I have removed different freeware to see if it is interfereing, I have sacrifed a model Cessna to the Gods of Aviation in an effort to solve this one and no joy.  The only thing left for me to do (and I am desparately trying not to) is to do a clean install and then add try to build back up all my scenery and stuff I have added on.  

If I have the sound off, I wouldn't be hearing background noises.  

Even us old guys have problems once in a while...  

That "stealth" add-on works pretty good doesn't it?


This might be a long shot but have you checked the settings in the Sim?
I know that with the engine sounds turned down below 50 in my settings the jets are a little softer than the props. ???

I would suggest you check out the sound folders on the aircraft involved & make sure you have a sound cfg file & on the ones not alised there should be .WAV files it is here where the engine sound comes from.
If most of your jets or alised to one other jet than the problem is in that jets sound folder.
The default B737-400 have there own wav files I would start there & make sure the .wav files are there. Try clicking on each wav file to make sure you hear sound from each one. If all of the above checks out ok try renaming your fs9 cfg file and restart FS & see what happens. I would try the above before I uninstalled & reinstalled FS. I know what a pain in the posterior that can be.

Sorry everyone here I misunderstood dread pirate roberts's topic,I though he meant that he did no had any movement,Its because my English isn't well enough and make me interpretate wrong things sometimes,it was just the engine sound,I apologise every one here for my stupidity and next time I'll read the things four times before I reply

I believe your problem is related to the audio CODECs in Windows.  This same thing happened to me over two years ago.  I just located my notes or would have responded sooner. 

The solution is to Uninstall and Reinstall the CODECs (I think these are COmpress-DECompress utilities within the multimedia part of the OS).  They are not a part of FS2004.

The procedure that I used at the time came out of the Microsoft Knowledge Base.  I was using FS2002 with Win98SE.  The reinstall worked and the jet sounds were back to normal.

If you're using Win98SE or WinME, I can provide more info to help with the process.  Or, search any of the Flight Sim forums or MS Knowledge Base for "Audio CODEC" and see what you come up with.
