I'm currently doing a repaint of the default B747-400 (2002 version), and everything is going well, but there are a couple of minor points I would like to alter about the 3D model itself. In the Virtual Cockpit, some of the textures don't look very good and seem very stretched, and I would like to be able to modify this.

I am not trying to do a major overhaul of the model, just alter a couple of things to improve the cockpit's appearance.

Is there any way I can do this with GMAX? Is there a GMAX version of the model which I can download and change myself?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks very much.

You will need the Gmax source files if you wish to change any part of the model. If the model is the microsoft 747 400 version  they would  not give you the source files. You could have a look in the design page here and see if there are any 747 source files or do a check on the web. Hope this helps

cheers

OK, thanks. Yes it is Microsoft's own 747-400.

I was wondering if there is a tool that actually allows you to convert the .MDL files back into GMAX source files or something.

Do you know if such a tool exists?

Many thanks.

OK, I've just found a program that does exactly that! It converts MDL models for Flight Sim 2002 straight back to GMAX files.  Grin

Thanks for your help!!
