I was stunned when I saw this screen shot...
This is Everett, Wa. In the lower right corner is Everett Naval Station. The Lincoln's inport and you can just see the corner of my office building.
I can't wait...
Joe
What do computers and air conditioners have in common?
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

It was 640x480 the color depth was at either 8bit or 16bit. But it
was over 100k
so fine, I can live with that. But, Ican't get it down to 100k.
Maybe you could help me?
The shot originally was 1024x768x32. I shrunk it down to 800x600x32 and it was still over a MEG. So I shrunk it to 640x480x32 and it was about 500K. I reduced the color depth to 24bit and the file size went up to 635K. Go figure. Then I went to either8 or 16bit. Atleast I thought I did. My imaging software allows me to save in either 8bit or 24bit.
So, what do I need to do?
Thanks,
Joe

I use PSP7 in that I can choose how much I wish to compress the Jpeg thus reducing its file size. When I hit save as and choose *.jpg there is an options button, I got in here and move the slider so it compresses the file enough to give me a good file size.

Joe,
I often post images at 800 w... and have them at just under 100K. The key is the amount of file compression you use in your paint rprogram when you save the image before uploading the revised file.
With each photo imaging program being different... hard to say how to set your up to do that..... but I imagine it is possible. I usually use about 15% compression when at 800 w resolution. I use Microsoft Image Editor (bundled with Frontpage 2002).
Hope this helps.
best,
