I always land in 2d view.  I find it a bit hard to look over the panel sometimes but this is easily fixed by zooming out to 0.50 zoom. Grin

2D cockpit for takeoff and landing; other views once I'm on course. Since I tend to fly passenger jets pretty much exclusively, I need to see the artificial horizon, air speed gauge, flap location etc. etc. I only relax into other views once the autopilot is on.

Once you've taken off or landed, you can re-run  in VC mode to see how it looks, but I wouldn't do it in real time! Too many passengers at risk!

(Mutter, mutter .. this is only a sim ... this is only a sim ...)

I like to use the VC because to me it seems to give a more realistic "feel".  I like to put minicontrols I got from FS98 in one corner just to get airspeed if the VC does not have a working gauge.
