I am curious to know how people like Mega Scenery.
I just got done reading an article about the future release of the Pacific Northwest, and I am interested, but I would like to know something....

When you are flying around, the scenery looks great, but...  When you are at the airport or on approach do you see 3D trees, buildings etc.  Or does the scenery appear flat as you get lower in altitude.  (flat in regards to buildings, trees, monuments, etc.)  The terrain and mapping look great, but don't want to loose the detail the lower to the ground you get.

Thank you for your comments.  Any information about this product would be fantastic! Grin

I've got "Photographic Scenery: England and Wales".

As it is a photograph laid over the ground mesh it looks fine, and very accurate, from a height of 2000+ feet, but at lower levels, and at ground level it is flat, as in F-L-A-T, as you would expect from a photograph... Grin...!

It's only fun tho' is following your known roads, rivers, etc, from a height.
Just dont expect amazing 3D scenery when you land. No buildings, bridges, trees, etc, (apart from the default airfields which poke through the photograph)... Wink...!

Cheers all...!

Paul.

P.S. I'm assuming that "Mega Scenery" works in a similar way... Wink...!
P.P.S. Like Dave says, it takes a big chunk out of your hard drive, takes AGES to load up, and is a frame rate killer, unless you've got a Cray super-computer......(like me... Wink....)... Cry...!
LOL...!

Thanks Fly2e  and Fozzer.  That is exactly what I thought it would be like. Grin

I was looking at the screenshots and curious how they would get away with having great looking textures but no 3D models to represent buildings and trees.  I see they don't. Grin

Sorry Fly2e about the wrong posting forum.  I hope I am not going to be grounded for it. Grin

Thanks....

Hi code...!
If you were "grounded" for it, then you wouldn't see 3D things sticking up in the photographic scenery around you... Cry...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Have fun...!
