Well, I have had FS9 for almost a week now Grin
And it is great Grin

Wehn I started flying with the FS series, it was FS98 at my uncles one day, then CFS1 another day Grin

Then about a month or so later my Dad got me a copy of CFS1, and I was hooked Grin
Then when I discovered downloads awhile later it became more fun 8)
At that point I hadn't thought of getting any of the other FS titels, mainly because I prefer military avaition to civil Grin
But anyway one christmas I got FS2000 after my friend had about two months before chiristmas Grin
Now I was thrilled with FS2000 and it didn't ware off until my friend got FS2002 Grin
So I flew the game at his house and thought it was great Cheesy
So onto the internet to check the price and then.............. £50 F Lips Sealed Lips SealedK Off microsoft, and that was the end of that Grin
So I went back to flying my faithful FS2000 Grin

But about 1/2 a year ago I noticed that the number of freeware planes had started to go down, bad, but I had an extensive collection of aircraft Grin

Then FS9 came out and I thought WOW Shocked thats 10 times better then what I have, but again the bl Lips Sealed Lips Sealeddy price, so I went back to FS2000 Cry

Then I bought a copy of CFS3 that was great Grin
But I still wanted FS9

So I bought Call of Duty and Battlefield Vietnam and really forgot about sims apart from CFS3 whcih I played online, that was good Grin

But the saviour of simming in my life was, a shop in America called Circuit City (similar to Dixions but better) I had a wonder round the shop, and FS9, checked the price, $19.99 ($21.99 whith sales tax) went to Dad said I am buying this!!!!!

So I got FS9 for £12.95, WOW Shocked Shocked

I couldn't want to install not even Granny wanting to be told about the holiday could get in the way Grin

And boy was I amazed Shocked

AMAZING

Is the word--Then all the downloads pages and pages and pages of them Grin

In one week I have installed 31 aircraft, one crash software and a carrier, also in one week I have become I memeber of this forum great stuuf Grin

Everyone is so helpful

Everyone likes my Screenshots

(here are the links if you'd like to see them-- http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=enhanced;action=display;nu... -- http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=enhanced;action=display;nu... -- http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=enhanced;action=display;nu... --there you go)

I am also discovering how to fly using IFR and VFR, use auto pilot

Know I am not being stupid but in FS2000 I could just select course hold and the plane would follow the filght plan I created and then land itself, but now there is none of that Angry

Well actually it is not annoying it brings the fun back to flying Grin

What I'd liked to say, is that this one of the best game I own, and apart from Battlefield Vietnam it is the only one I play, and these forums make the game so much better, with getting helpful answers for everything Grin Grin

Thank you all Grin Grin

P.S does anyone have a link to POSKY B757-300, I tried to dowload it from the POSKY website and it didn't work

Links will be welcomed Grin Grin

...

And with that I will fly away Grin Grin

ROFL - Glad to see you're enjoying yourself; Budd!
Yep; one of the fun things of the M$ sim series has been watching it progress and improve over time - I kinda look for the next generation like the kids look for the prize at the bottom of the cereal box - you know it's coming; but not quite what it'll be like.

And yep; the moddability of the series is IMO its best feature. Smiley

Cheers!

Whatv makes this game fun is doing stunts with planes that aren't made for stunts (Cessna) and planes that theoreticaly counldnt even dream of it (Any boeing)

like my stunt:

I took off with a boeing 737-300 out of my home airport, took it up to 3000 barrell rolled it up side down, flew it to 50000 from there, and then pulled back hard for a instant direction change. I was able to regain strait and level at 2000.  Shocked SCARY STUFF!

ofcoarse over stress was disabled. None-the-less tough to do.

Hey Budd, I'm glad you like FS9-its an amazing improvement over the previous versions (especially in the weather catagory).

I just checked, you can download the new POSKY 757 over at www.avsim.com.  Just go run a search for "Project Opensky" and you should be able to find it.

Hey, Budd ~ Glad you are here with all of us...and I couldn't agree with you more.....this forum makes all the hours of flying worth while...kind of like the opperations chat room or lounge where you can sit back, relax, tell "war stories", share photos, share adventures and in general just get to know each other.  Great people and great fun!  To tell you the truth I don't know which one I enjoy more.....flying the simulator or reading all of the great threads.  The help and advice received are invaluable.  Perhaps someday we will all meet each other in person....wouldn't that be great!!   Wink    I Love this place!!   Smiley
