....enoute over the Biscaya bay. Captain said on the PA that we had a nice 60kt headwind right on the nose. Total flight time was 5hrs and 10mins.
...

Did try to shoot some scenery, Gran Canaria has some nice beaches.
...

A Hibiscus flower

At the Las Palmas airport, these photos were taken today, on the return flight Smiley
Thomas Cook/Condor A320(?)
...

Thomas Cook aircrafts also sports the sweetest tails. In the background a Transavia 738 and also a Brittania 738 (which is actually the aircraft that would bring me home)
...

Which aircraft? Wink
...

Finally a close-up shot of a Sterling 737NG, don't remember which series.
...

Overall, I had a very pleasant week in the Canarias, the weather was sunny everyday, great hotel and food  Smiley
These are my first ever pictures with my camera, I barely know half of its functions and features. Some photos turned out to be good- some not so good, but these are okay I think.
Anyways, it's great to be back!

What is that in the first photo?
Some kind of GPS that passengers can see where they are?
If so that is a neat idea, never seen one before!
Great shots!!

Pardon? Is that the opposite of having a 60kt headwind bang on the tail? Tongue Grin

D'oH!

My bad, I mean a headwind...jet lag is taking it's toll (I have to adjust to the 1hr time difference  Grin )

Fret: Yeah that's basically it, the screen gets data from the aircrafts actual navigation systems, and GPS is a big part of it Smiley

Great pictures!  I love those flight monitor things; I saw one on a Delta 757 (I think) that also displayed the airspeed, altitude, and ETA.  Fairly useless info to a passenger, but nifty anyway Smiley

Very nice shots!
2 & 3 are spectacular, but my fav is the last one. Wink
As for the first one, I'm not sure if that's in the ceiling or the seats, but I've seen screens like that before.  Some intl airlines have them when the in flight movie is not on,.  Frontier Airlines, based in my home city of Denver, has those on if you dont pay the $5 for the DirectTV service.  I'm sure our resident expert, FrontierGuy, can vouch for this...
