I am having file association difficulties with my flightplans under win XP.  See, the problem is that there is a software of my wifes entitles Mastercook by seirra.  It automatically claims any file created with a .pln extension as a mastercook meal PLAN.  I right click and choose to default open these files with notepad but it doesn't allow me to change the frame program associated with the file. It always stays listed as a Mastercook mealplan.  How can I change this???? Its causing my flightplanner not to list anything with-in the sim.

Try this.

Right click on what it is you want opened
click on properties
on the "general" tab you will see where it says "open with" and then a box "change"
That will open a list of programs, pick which one you want to use, towards the bottom there will be a box with something like "always use this program to open this type file" make sure it is checked and then click "ok" and then "apply"

Seems confusing but that is just me trying to explain something easy Grin

I have it straightened out. thanks.  I knew to to that but I just needed to figure out how to change the file association.  the icon at the very top when u click properties.  I know it can be done in folder option for everything like that and i know that renameing and changing the . extension works to.  Thanks.
