I have a terrain mesh file by Eddy Denny and it's been out since fs.2000 but also worked in 2002. It covers the appalacians of PA and northern VA, MD, and W.VA. I was wondering since not all scenery is cross compatable if basic terrain mesh files might be. Thats all it is. Does not change autogen or fixed scenery. All it does is define the landforms more true to life. Would this terrain mesh function under COF?
Thanks
Gary

Hello Gary It is my under standing that there is a difference between the way FS2002 and FS2004 displays scenery and I am not sure if this effects meshes or not but the chances are that it does. If you use windows ME or XP you can make a restore point then put the mesh in and try it out the worse that can happen is FS2004 might crash. If it does you can always remove the mesh and if necassary go back to the restore point you made before you did anything.
Let me know if you are sucessfull. 8)

Howdy,
while there have been some minor changes to code for the landscape elements the basic FS "terrain engine" hasn't changed since FS2000. All add-on mesh made for FS2000 or FS2002 will be compatible with FS9.
There might be newer and better mesh files available for the eastern US. Search for Justin Tyme at the main servers or visit the Downloads-Freeware section on his website:
http://portal.fsgenesis.net/
Actually, what has changed is the way mesh display is prioritized for areas with overlapping add-ons of the same resolution. Check Steve Greenwood's website for more infos on that:

Cheers, Holger
