Waterbomb,
Hi and welcome to SimV.
Go to the two "screenshots" forums and have a look for yourself. Sometimes the images look like photos.
However... and it is a
BIG "however"......... also go back in the fs2004 forum to the pages that are back near the beginning of the Forum and check out the information there that we all found out ( the hard way) about what type of machine and video card it took to get decent results with this sim.
There is a LOT of info back there to become aware of.
Then also look for some of the same topic headers in the more current sections of this forum.
The short of it.......... it takes a really good machine to get the really stunning visuals. It also usually takes a lot of "tweaking" to get it to work well. And puzzingly....... some people with higher end machines get worse performance than those with more moderate machines. (Go figure

.) So good hardware is NOT a absolute guarantee of really good performance. But weak hardware IS pretty much a guarantee of poor performance.
If your machine is marginal....... go for fs200
2 as a test to see if you like civilian sims. You can likely find it cheap.... so no great investment in case you don't like it. It is complicated enough ... and with add ons... it can be pretty much as complicated as you want it to be. The visuals are good.... but not as spectacular as fs2004. And the terrain is not all "flat"

.
Hope these thoughts help.
best,
......................john
