Here are some from the Dayton Air Show
The awesome Glacier Girl was there!
As well as the famous Memphis Belle!
This was (see Hagars reply)
A B25 named Panchito.
Tora,Tora,Tora was a re-creation of the attack on Pearl Harbor, really "explosive". At first I thought I was seeing real Zeros flying but upon closer inspection realized they were modified T6's.
The Aeroshell T6 Texan Team
Yes that is a guy standing on top!!
And what is a air show without a car eating Robosaurus?

Glacier Girl looks beautiful.
I'd love to try the wing walking myself!
Not sure about the car munching Robosaurus. We definately don't get those over on this side of The Pond
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Very nice shots Fret.

This was something like the third or fourth plane built by the Wright Bros
Looks more like a Bleriot XI monoplane to me.

First successful flight across the English Channel - July 25th 1909.

That can't be the real "Belle' Last I heard, she was undergoing restoration after sitting on Mud Island in Memphis as a tourist trap for years...

Nice shots, it must have been a great show. I wish we had big air shows here-but, we don't.

I knew they were restoring her, but thought they were finished. Seems I was wrong
Quite disappointing actually I never thought about checking this out at first but yes she is hangered in Memphis undergoing restoration.
Makes me ask why it was advertised that she would be there, not a replica???
Even the guy that was posted to answer questions was telling people her story but never once mentioned that this isn't the original, kind of decieving if you ask me.
You can go here to the Air Show site where it is advertised this being the "original"
http://www.usats.org/performances.html
So now it seems someone is lying now of to find the truth
Found this at the Memphis Belle Restoration site:
Quote:
The REAL Memphis Belle has been in Memphis, TN, since July of 1946 when she was saved from the surplus scrap operation in Altus, OK, by the City of Memphis. She is designated a national historic treasure and will never be flown again.
More than one B-17 has been dressed up to look like the Memphis Belle over the years. Currently one, which played the Memphis Belle in the 1990 theatrical movie, visits air shows throughout the USA and Canada. The air show advertising makes it sound like the Memphis Belle is visiting, but you need to check the fine print.
Proceeds from those shows do not support our restoration efforts or the Memphis Belle in any way. We encourage everyone to join our association and/or make a contribution to our restoration work. Check out the Get Involved section of our Web site for more information on membership.
Seems the question has been answered

Oh man I can't believe I missed this show... I had the website bookmarked, a post-it note on my computer, told a few people to remind me, and still missed it! I saw Glacier Girl's first flight (after the restoration) and have been dying to see her fly again. Oh well, I'll just have to cruise down to Middlesboro (~30 miles!) and visit her in the museum

Nice shots. The last one reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where that thing totals their car. "TRUCKASAURUS!"
I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday.
