Hi,

I have just downloaded the new hunter packages by - Dave Garwood, Dave Booker and Saverio Maurri, but have so far not been able to fly the aircraft beyond 300 knots.

The aircraft simply gets into an oscillation and over stresses. The flight realism settings are on hard, so that is why the over stress comes up, but I thought it was the hunter which achieved the world speed record once at about 600 knots so why can't I get even close?

I don't know if its me or the flight model being a little bit strange. I don't know how the software works on that type of thing, but I seem to remember some aircraft being a little strange if they are not flying with the correct realism settings in previous sims.

I was also wondering how realistic are some types of behaviour of aircraft in flight sim, like is it possible to get them to spin and all the other things or that depend on how good the model is?

Anyway some ideas would be helpful, the rest of the model looks great and if I can find out what I am doing wrong that would be great for flying in such a classic mil jet.

Thanks for the link I hope that will fix the problem, it's good to know that it wasn't all my fault that all those great aircraft kept getting destroyed!

I don't have a problem flying the Hunter, but I can't get it to go above .8 mach. Now, I do believe that WB188 broke the world speed record of the time at Mach 1.0 in level flight. Undecided

Are you flying WB188 as the prototype or the F.3?

The Hunter was never supersonic in level flight, even the record breaking one. The speed record set in WB188 by Neville Duke was 727.62 mph. This was at low level where Mach 1.0 is reckoned to be around 760 mph depending on the air temperature.

PS. I was lucky enough to see him do it. http://members.lycos.co.uk/rafstathan/page10.html
