Hi everyone

I have a question I Downloaded an addon 747 . It dosent have the VCcokpit in it . Is there a way to put the VCcokpit from the Def. 747-400 in to the addon747 ??

Is the info I need to add in the panel cfg. file, and the texture file on the def 747-400 ? Here is the first lines on the dfe.747 panel cgf.

[VCockpit01]
size_mm=512,512
pixel_size=512,512
texture=$747_1
background_color=0,0,0

The line texture=$747_1  is that one of the txetures in the def. 747 texture file??

any info you can give would be good.

Thank you for your time.

It is my understanding that a Virtual cockpit is part of the model and if a plane does not have one you can not put one it with out rebuilding it from scratch Then you would have to have the author permission to do so.
But you are correct the line refers to the texture needed for that part of the model. This texture is made at the time of the aircraft is being designed. It is just like the texture of the plane itself it has to be made at the time of design. 8)

It won't work - the texture you're referring to is assigned to a specific part in the mdl (the visual model file) that isn't present in the add-on 747.  By consequence, you can edit the panel.cfg, but again, it's referencing things that aren't there in the addon 747.

The mdl file is the visual model file that defines what you see on the VC, internal and external views.  The gmax (which one of the modelling programs used to create the airplanes) file is the source file of the airplane, which is where you would build in the VC and other external bits and pieces.
