Hi all fellow homebrew cockpit builders.

I have just returned to the US from about 2 months over in Japan and am looking forward to getting back to working on my simpit and doing some "flying" once again.

I put about 14,000 real air miles on with this particular trip.  Manchester, NH to Pearson at Toronto, then Toronto to New Tokyo International in Narita.  And then back...... but from Toronto to Logan in Boston.  Toronto to Narita was about 14 hours in the air...and Narita to Toronto about 12 hours due to the jetstream tailwind.

It is nice to see the continued interest occuring here in the Forum and the new projects underway.  I'd also like to thank Dave and the other mods for "holding down the fort" while I was pretty much out of touch for so long.

It will take me a few days to get de-jetlagged and get life in order to become more fully involved here again.

best,

.......................john

Dave,

Congratulations on the new daughter!!!!!!  I have two daughters........ one now 23 and married and the other 17 and a senior in high school.  Enjoy.....they grow fast.

Japan was wonderful.  I was there almost two months this time..... and shifting back into thinking in a more "western" mode is taking a bit longer.  Bit of reverse culture shock.  As usual...... when I got back into the US I still occassionally responded in Japanese to a English speaking person every now and then  Wink.

Enjoyed the flights too....except for a sore butt  Smiley.  It is sort of interesting when you can recognize somewhat what the pilots are doing from the performance you feel from the aircraft and seeing the control surfaces out the window change (I always get a window seat <g>).  Had a nasty crosswind landing in Toronto on the way out.  Same on the way back in..... but in a much larger aircraft.

So... soon back to work on the simpit.

And you beat me to it.... I was going to go "unsticky" that "Be Away" posting when I came back on here today......but you beat me to it.  Thanks.

best,

......................john
