FS9 will not start (Read 201 times)

Win98, AMD Athln XP1800+, 512ram, 80gb and have no other problems in the PC.

FS9 worked OK for months since installed.
Suddenly it does not start, and gives this:-

Fs9 This progrm caused an illegal operation & will shut down. Contact ventor.

FS9 caused an invalid page fault in
module FSUI.DLL at 015f:20832ef0.

Heya Nochus,

I did a little research for you. Is there any chance that you have a a Plextor 40/12/or 40a CDROM drive? Or maybe a Plextor 708a? Jason Peterson and Trip Lane
diagnosed this problem to the antipiracy software that MS FS 2004 uses called SafeDisc 2.9. They discovered that the SafeDisc 2.9 has a conflict in the FSUI.dll if you have these or other Plextor brand CDROMs.

To resolve this issue they recommend to use the "FS 2004 No CD" patch. You can get it here:

Just unzip and install it. The easy explanation is that this file contains a modified FS 2004 executable program which starts up from your hard drive instead of your CDROM, therefore bypassing your FSUI.dll.

Just to let you know I've been using this same program since it came out and have had absolutely no problems with FS 2004 running. Give it a try and let me know what happened.
