Overspeed on an airspeed gauge (Read 263 times)

Hi

How or where is the "overspeed" indicator on a airspeed
gauge set. I am using an airspeed gauge which has enough
range to cover the speed of the aircraft but the "overspeed"
hand is set too low.....how do I raise it??

It would help if you told us what gauge you are using and where you got it , Or if it is your own design.8)

The 'overspeed' settings are made in the .AIR file by adjusting the Vmo and Mmo (airspeed in kts and Mach number) - you'll need a program like AirED (available here) to do this.

Don't forget to make backups first!

Which airplane are you using? Most of them are set correctly. For example a 737 probably won't go over~ 500 kts.

Oops....sorry if I didn't provide enough info.

Here's the story. That great little Lockheed Martin Alenia
C-27J which was released a few weeks ago had no
panel. I looked around for a twin turbo panel I liked and
ended up with one of the many Dash-8 panels out there.

The gauge it uses for airspeed is an EMB120grab_airspeed.

Only trouble is I need to raise the Overspeed by about
10-12 mph to stop the warnings. Max speed for the C-27J
is 376 mph (605 km/h).

I will look for that file to tweak the .air file.
