In speedbird's shot above here...... there is a large dark green area in the upper right hand side of the city pictured.  The dark green area looks like it would logically be a park within the confines of the city.

But it is covered with a "mesh" of streets breaking it up into small rectalinear segments....... that really look pretty un-natural for such a park-like area.....even in a city

This seems pretty weird to me.  Is this how the "real roads" are in this particular area.... or it is another "bug" in the USA Roads overlay like the streets that go out into the ocean water and that run across rivers with no bridges?

best,

fretnstuff asked for some night shots with USA Roads so here are some. He also asked about FPS.  You cant see it here due to resizing, but I was getting 49FPS (locked at 50 in these shots).

...

JBaymore asks about the park with the "grid".  You are correct. This seems to be a bug. I changed the settings in USA Roads to "'Major Roads Only" and this is the result. Much more realistic.  Yes, some roads do run into the middle of a lake in places, but I can live with that.
FPS=31 in this shot. Note though that Im also running all settings at MAX including 2004 Traffic

you know i gotta tell you...like so many other claims for add ons, this one too falls short...now dont get me wrong...i bought it and installed it the other day, and its "so so" in my opinion...roads are blurry until you are at least 3 or 4 thousand ft....the bridges now have concrete roads in the water right next to them, etc etc..ok....i still need to tweak, but, this add on reminds me of the "mega scenery" add ons that everyone seems to rave about; the fact is (in my opinion) that maga just produces mega blur just so we can have an accurate coastline,,,i loaded and reloaded mega twice, thinking i would grow to like it...i dont and now i deleted it forever...to me ,,the fs genesis and add on scenery freeware, airports, cities, etc landclass is the way to go....and those of you who say  "who cares, i'm always at altitude anyway" i say you still have to climb out and land and thats where the fun is,........so i happen to like decent 'clean' ground textures  i have a lot to say about all the claims made by these payware guys but for now i'll end this and spare you.

Speedbird,

It is not JUST about the size of the image.  You can have image files that are 800w and be in the Megabyte size range from some programs.

Take some time with your screenshot program or photo editing program to see what options there are for controling files size.  You'll likely find that you almost always use some form of compression......particularly at 800w.

But 640 w is no guarantee either.

You have to take the time to look at the filesize at least in Win Explore before you upload them.  Different details in shots changes the filesize for the given format based on the complexity of the image and the number of colors present.

ALL MY SCREENS WERE 500X375.....WHAT GIVES????????????????? They were all the same size as the one you left.

Speedbird, out of curiosity, what program do you use for saving jpgs?

I use Irfanview, and rarely have any that go over 100K.

The 3 that I found were around 110kb+

Not a whole lot over and not saying you would do it, but for some people if you give an inch they take a mile.

Apparently the US Roads screens take up A LOT of space.

Try posting them again Speedbird, maybe Irfanview will make them less than 100K.  Smiley

Thanks SaVas I think it worked.  I rechecked the previously posted pics and they were indeed 105 Kb.  Not much over, but over non the less, and that was wrong of me.   ???
