I was just wondering what is meant by "heavy with Tango"  or "heavy with lima"  et all. I know what the heavy means-- but what about the rest?

                                                            Thanks

Heavy  applies to an aircraft which exceeds a certain weight limit, in this case 250.000lbs I believe. ATC uses the term to give higher separation minimums between the aircrafts lining up for approach, since  a large and heavy aircraft creates more wake turbulence which can be a hazard for smaller aircrafts.

Tango and Lima is the name of  different  ATIS informations (they change at 20 and 50 minutes of the hour), so if you say "Air Canada 1152 Heavy with Tango requesting IFR clearance..." the ATC knows if your weather report is up to date or not Smiley
