I just want to know if there is a program to make guages. I already have CFGedit to put them on panels.

It depends which sim this is for. To create gauges in the original GAU format you would need some experience in C programming. The new XML gauge format was introduced with FS2002. This might be easier to understand & work with. You can find more details in the FS9 Panels and Gauges SDK. http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_downloads_sdk.asp

PS. XML gauges are not compatible with earlier sims like CFS2. You can change the appearance of existing GAU files by editing the textures. Do a search for a little utility named GauBmp2 by Chuck Dome.

If you decide to use xml gauges cfgedit will not display xml gauges. There is a payware program form flight one that will. It is basically an advanced cfigedit. 8)

If it's of any help to you, I posted a tutorial and workbook on panels and gauges on this website a month ago.  It's titled "Simple Panel Design" because the only software you need for designing panels and gauges is right there in your Windows operating system.  No need to download or buy other software.  So if you're interested in understanding gauges a little better, you might find it useful to read the tutorial and do the step-by-step workbook exercises that are included.  I wrote the tutorial for beginners through advanced intermediate FS users.  If you want to look through the tutorial you can find and download it in the Tutorial and Design sections of this website.

Good luck.
