You can see my system specs in my sig(System 2).

The default FS planes are fine, but alot of downloaded aircraft(mainly iFDG planes) textues take a few seconds to display in spot mode...it's just a black shell that comes up.

I've tried changing most things, I completely turned AA off but it made no difference, then I've lowered all the settings but still no help.

I've got a decent enough PC, any reason why or do you know what specific settings I should change? ???

Cheers.

Some of my aircrafts do this too.  I think its to do with the complexity of the model and the amount of detail in the textures.  I may be wrong though.

I got a similar spec to you though I have more ram but a slightly less powerful graphics card.

One thing you could try to help it all out is tidy your drive up, i.e. defrag etc.

I will try that.  It definately seems it has trouble loading the image for the certain part of the aircraft as it slowly does bit by bit, with the tail taking about a second and the main 'tube' taking a few seconds.

Yes i use to have the same problem till i put in more ram.those aircraft have a lot of textures to read haveing the extra ram helps speed things up.

Thanks alot for giving me the advice about defragging, I did it overnight last night and the textures load ALOT quicker.

They still aren't perfect but much better, I think I may upgrade to 1gig of RAM too. Smiley

The defrag is not gonna help much. Have you tried licking your framerate to 22 frames. Because if you put it to unlimited the computer is going to spend a lot of CPU power and memory trying to become better and thus slowing himself down. Try putting it to 20-22 frames and see what happens.

BTW: the iFDG model is it a Lufthansa or UPS MD-11?

Hope this helps!
