Hello!
I just upgraded my machine to:

2,4 Gig processor
Sapphire Radeon 9600
new Motherboard,

... and the performance is bad!. When on 1024x768 resolution it kind'a OK but the graphics doesen't look so good, then I tried to go a step higher on resolution and I see only half the panel. Also the edges of aircraft look kind'a grumpy.

I upgraded from A G-Force 4, but I liked the image better with the G-Force! Is there any difference in screen appearance between Radeon and G-Force cards.

Please Help!

Have you upgraded your drivers? Without them your going nowhere! If you aint then try the OMEGA drivers for Radion cards. Ive got them for my 9800 pro and they blew me away!

Get a program called Driver Cleaner and get rid of all your old GFX card drivers, being careful not to get rid of your mobo ones etc.  Cant remeber where I got it from maybe www.download.com

Once rid of those go here http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html

Get the latest official ATI drivers.  ATI used to have probs with drivers which is why peeps tended to go for the Omega ones but they got there act together now and there latest drivers seem good (On my bros 9800pro) No artifacts tearing etc.

I would use driver cleaner or backup your files and format your comp and re-install everything.  That (i would expect) would fix it.
