I got my comp up, but figures... Flight Simulator doesn't work, why would it? Anways, it comes up with a very odd message. Something about check that your hardware is installed correctly. I had a professional do it for me. And then it said if that didn't work, try doing something with the Memory's BIOS menu. About turning off cache or shading? Thx.

You've changed your screen name again Jesster.  Tongue

Have you tried reinstalling FS? Even today's software installers don't get it right all the time. It's usually something to do with the installer incorrectly registering the program with the OS. If you want to keep all your old addons just install a new copy of FS in a different location and then shunt everything back over.

I only pretend to know what I'm talking about. Heck, that's what lawyers, car mechanics, and IT professionals do everyday. True to an extent, copy'n'pasting from 1 install of FS to another causes problems  in some cases. - I've certainly found this to be the case with CFS2 and add-on aircraft.

Shadowing...... not shading.

Video bios shadowing (cacheing) and system bios shadowing (cacheing)

I have had probs on some systems if they are selected.

You may have exactly what it says...... hardware not installed correctly.
In other words, your BIOS may be set up wrong.

Your BIOS should match your system, CPU speed, Front side bus speed, and memory (ram) speed should be set correctly...... but.... it's more likely something else in the BIOS, like AGP video card not set as the primary device, wrong AGP multiplier (2x, 4x, 8x), graphics aperature or window size too low, onboard graphics not good enough.... (eeek!), ....

directX not installed, wrong video driver, Mainboard AGP driver not installed..... bad game installation.

You can get you're PC's manual out and read through the BIOS or "System Setup" section.
If you go into the PC's bios, you can exit without saving if you chicken out.

Don't change anything if you aren't sure.

And one more thing, my joystick isn't installed yet, would that do anything to disrupt it?

I'm sorry, and one more thing that might help, here's the error in all it's glory...

MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION

0X0000009C

That might help something...

It's not the joystick, FS will run fine without it.
