yeah, yeah I know that's the slogan for the A340
Anyways, todays flight took me from CYYZ to EDDF (Toronto Pearson Intl. - Frankfurt Main)
Here's the Air Canada A340-300, just some minutes after take-off. I was very heavy, used almost all of the runway when I finally hit VR at some 170kts
Is that really normal???
Arriving at our initial cruise leve of 33.000ft. Later on during the flight I'd step climb to FL350 and FL370. Turning towards Montreal (CYUL)
Passing Greenland!
Finally over land again, the A340 cruising above the United Kingdom.
Descending into Frankfurt, and here's where all hell broke loose
The FD bars were bouncing like crazy, I tell you that...
Low ceilings, thunderstorm and a visibility of 5, add the nice 20kt wind with a gust factor of 7 and you have some interesting weather
And finally.
The autoflight system intercepts the localizer smoothly, despite the steep bank. Airbus AP never exceed 33 degrees bank angle
And that's the last picture
Hope you enjoyed them, the flight took me some 8 hours to complete.

very nice shots nexus:)
And yes for the A340-300 its very normal, so much so its even scary. Those hairdryers struggle enough to get the thing into the air, then when they use the lower thrust setting it barely manages to climb and it certainly has a shallow climb

I knew abolut the slow climb rate reputation, I was more asking about the high VR speed
I only used flaps 1 for takeoff, maybe I should've gone to another notch, just to decrease the VR speed?
I think the slow climb rate rumour is a bit exaggerating. when I hit thrust reduction altitude the aircraft performed okay, not a rocket of course, but just make sure you don't chase the managed speed settings and the A343 will climb in a decent manner.
And I didn't use all the thrust available, I used FLEX (38 c) and not TOGA as autothrust takeoff mode, more fuel efficient but a tradeoff in power, off course

lol cool.
I dont know about the high VR speed, but i suppose it would give theory 4 engines 4 long haul wasnt talking about its range but more the distance it travels on the runway:)

Is that panel payware? I don't have FS2004 yet, but it looks really nice.
EDIT: Realised it's the payware forum!
