Hi everyone,

I need help and I need it bad. Yesterday I installed a couple of new aircrafts with panels and all and when I tried to start the program I just got an error saying " MSFS2002 has detected 3rd party software that might not be compatible with this version.
File: traffic.dll
Do you want to upload the file?"
Clicking no makes the program shut down and return to windows immediately. Clicking yes delays the shutdown with 1-2 seconds.
I´ve tried:
...to remove the new planes: Nothing
...to uninstall and reinstall FS2002: Nothing
...to uninstall and manually remove all (that I know of) residual components and then reinstall: Nothing
Somebody please help me. I´m in total agony here. Haven't been able to fly for over 24 hours. To add to my pains my wife has put in a strong veto against "format c:". If you can't help me...

Hi Dilitium & welcome. I've seen this problem mentioned here before. I had a quick punt round on Google & found this posted on another site. Look familiar?

I don't have WinXP so never had the problem myself. Hope it works & saves your sanity. Wink

I just recently took Flight Sim 2002 off my hard drive. When I to re-load software and tried running sim I get an error message stating that Microsoft Sim 2002 has detected 3rd party software may not be compatible. File name traffic.dll. When sim tries to open it crashes.I have tried reinstalling software several times with no success. HELP......

Make a copy of the traffic.dll in your fs2002\modules folder and place the copy in your fs2002 folder. This is a known problem for some users that updated to WinXP SP1. It doesn't affect everyone, but the solution is as above.

Thank you thank you thank you...
Problem solved and it taught me a valuable lesson. Get some help before you do anything radical. I had the PSS Airbus 320 installed. Had like 400 hours in it last year and now when I have to reinstall the cd is gone! Well I saw that PSS is having a sale on it...
So again:
Thank you thank you thank you
