I just bought FS9 two days ago, and i installed it today.  When I try to start it, the loading screen comes up, the screen goes black for a few seconds, and it crashes to the desktop.  Any suggestions?

Also, where do you find the processor speed for the registration?

Hello i would go ahead and contact microsoft for help then look to the fourms for some ideas on the problem.first i would make shure your video drivers are the newest ones for your card and make shure you have direct x 9 installed.look in your documents folder and see if theres a file called Flight Simulator Files.if not then make a Folder in your documents Folder and name it Flight Simulator Files.try that.that file must be in there or it wont run at all.

I downloaded the no cd patch and it starts now, but the computer constantly locks up and I have to shut it down.  i have DX9.0b and the latest video drivers installed.

Hello again.some good news i hear it at least starts now.but the bad news many things can cause lock ups.is your resolution set at 800x600x32.the sim wont run on a lesser setting?.i have read a post before about this same problem and microsoft had a fix.i seem to recall a corupt direct x install but cant be shure on it.i take it youve done got your self in line for microsofts help list i am shure they know the solution to this problem i could do a lot of hit and miss guessing what might be the cause but they will be able to pin the problem down.so i would give them a shot and then if they dont get you flying come back here and we will guess at it till its fixed.
