Maybe not stupid, but simple! When you first use Gmax, there is a big selecter for all sorts of stuff, like box and cone etc... Well, i've managed to make mine dissapear. How can I get it back? Dan

It sounds like the Tab panel your talking about. Use the Y key to open it.

It sounds like you have the Command Panel un-docked. If this is the case, just right click the Command Panel next to the red X to open the docking options.

I run on two monitors so I have all my toolbars and panels undocked to the second monitor allowing almost full screen viewing for any given view port.

Ahhh!!!!!!!!! Found it. It wasn't a docking prob. I looked around for the name, and found it under customize > Show ui > show command panel. Or press 3!!
Thanks, Still honoured!
