Felix and team:

I'd love to canvas ideas and enhancements for the next release of FSDS.

What about:

1.Being able to view selected parts only - certainly help in fit up and texturing.

2.Ability to cut and paste selected parts or group of parts.
3. Improve the screens to allow mouse re-centring on the model and generally moving around the model.

Any others out there???

Select the parts you want to view (Either with mouse selection, or through F3 and individually select the parts)
Edit->Invert Selection
Edit->Hide Selection

You now have just the parts you want to see.

2.Ability to cut and paste selected parts or group of parts.

Select the parts you want (see above)
then cut (CTRL-X) or copy (CR|TRL-C) and Paste (CTRL-V)

Side note.  If I want to work on a specific group of parts (say, the landing gear), I'll copy the part(s) and create a new model page (usually set it to inactive) and paste the parts there.  Then, after I finish changing them, I copy and paste them back to the "main" (or whatever model) model ..

3. Improve the screens to allow mouse re-centring on the model and generally moving around the model.

Right-click, then click on "center".  The image then is centered on the mouse position.

Also - "C" centers on the specific (current) part; shift-C (re)centers  on the model.

Thanks Felix!
I was bogged down with the "view current part only" selection, never thought of select and hide!

Are there any other enhancements already on the drawingboard for the next release you can share with us?

I haven't seen/heard anything yet.  I know work is being done, but I haven't any details.

I'd love a built-in GMAX convertor.

Are you talking FSDS to gmax?  The CVA standalone converter can be called in from the plugins menu if you install it to your FSDS plugins folder.

I'm more interested in gmax to fsds2, I found something here, but It merges all my parts together when I do it.  Sad

To convert Gmax to FSDS2 (or anything else) see the FAQ at the beggining of this section, then go download the kit from here:

http://www.simviation.com/fsdesign_fsds.htm

No problem after that.

As for improvements, the ability to undo an action for more than 1 level would be nice...  Roll Eyes
