Hey Ive been checking out some really cool things that are to come in racing games soon.NASCAR '05 will be out in fall, this game will have something ive been looking for in a race game for a while.  you can move from dirtcar modified, to the truck series, to the busch series, and then to nextel cup.  I am not so much interested in this specific game as much as the other implications it will have on other games like F-1.  Start in Karting, to F-3000, to F-1.  This would be excellent, because it takes me so long to memorize all the corners in F-1, so a transition from slowGP cars to fast would help.

Try Rally Trophy 1960s cars with crash damage that affects performance. Then try their web site for newer cars, awsome!!

Out for PC since 1999,so the graphics aren't that good anymore.
I recommend STCC2. It's simply TOCA with swedish tracks and nicer cars, such as Alfa 156s, Honda Accords, BMW 3 series, Volvos and even Pontiac Firebirds.

Other very good racing games:
-Grand Prix 4
-Nascar 2003
-Live for Speed
-Rally Trophy

Gran turismo 4 will absolutly blow away the competition like all which have come before it.  Theres a pre release avaliable but from what i have heard its best to just wait as this isnt much better than 3. Been a long wait but well worth it i have a feeling.

I have GT2 for playstation-its pretty sweet but outdated.  I refused to buy GT3 (due to the lack of classic cars) and am currently awaiting the release of GT4 (its gonna have classic cars!!!)

I was just looking at the list of cars (I don't know if they have released an official list-but it seems to be the most everywhere) and unfortunately I don't see the Micra on it.

I've been reading over the list and here are few car that I have pulled off that makes me smile:

Chevrolet Camaro ‘69

Chevrolet Camaro 35th Anniversary
Chevrolet Camaro SS ‘01
Chevrolet Camaro SS ‘69

Chevrolet Camaro Z28 ‘01
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 ‘77
Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1 ‘69

Chevrolet Chevelle SS ‘68
Chevrolet Corvette 427 Stingray ‘69
Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport ‘63
Chevrolet Corvette Split-window Coupe ‘63
Chevrolet El Camino SS ‘69
DMC-12 Delorean ‘81

Dodge Challenger R/T Hemi ‘70

Dodge Charger Daytona 500 Race Car ‘70
Dodge Charger R/T ‘69
Ford GT40 Mk1 Race Car ‘68
Ford Mustang Boss 429 ‘70
Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback ‘69
Plymouth GTX
Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda ‘70
Plymouth Road Runner
Plymouth Superbird
Pontiac GTO Judge ‘70
Shelby Cobra 427 ‘67
Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe Race Car ‘64
Shelby Mustang GT 500 KR ‘68
Shelby Mustang GT350

As I'm sure is obvious-the red cars make me VERY happy.  The only thing I wish it had is a '69 Camaro Z-28 since that was kind of the street racer version (although the ZL-1 was much faster).  Also, if you'd like to see the car list (again, I'm not sure if it's official) look here: http://www.alexpepper.com/forums/showthread.php?s=ed07ae582e549d29ebc2a67e421e28...

Also just for the record, after the '69 Camaro-my next favorite cars are a '70 Charger (R/T 426), and the 1981-83 DeLorean DMC-12.  That would explain all the red.   Wink

Oh Hell yeah the intrepid is in:) police and race versions Grin
Sadly the long list is bad for one thing. no real drivers view which is something the GT series has always been lacking.

Thats true, I have been wondering if they were ever going to do that.  But, to me thats not a big deal.  I prefer to place racing games from behind the car anyway (I like to see it drive  Grin).

i used to love that view but found you could get better results from in the car view. Although i rarely use the dashboard option when its there its still nice. GT series has to many redeeming qualities for it to be let down though

I wonder if you could hit 88mph in one-they're really slow.  A friend of mine has one (a 1982 I think) and I've ridden in it (he wouldn't let me drive it  Cry)-they only have 130hp.

If you have a flat rate, then MP is better, sure, but with a limit of 1500MB/Month with 3Persons, it is not as good.

Not quite sure what your implyimg by your 1500mb limit, if your refering to some downloading limit, then don't worry you are not going to touch that sort of bandwith just by playing a simple on-line racer, or, most other kinds of on-line playing.

I have a limit on my downloads, 1GB per day ! - I've found that by re-setting my I.P. I also re-set my download tab for that particular day - not that I'm likely to download anything like as much as > 1GB in 1 day!  Roll Eyes - Its certainly worth a try if your on a restricted package, I gain a new I.P. by powering off my modem, and holding its "reset" switch on for 3 seconds as I power up.  Wink

For the ultimate in realism check out the soon to be released "GTR" by Simbin.  There is an amazing demo available for the product.  Google revealed this source:

http://www.demo-files.com/view.php3?1758

Another first class racing game is F1 Challenge by EA Sports, though it's been discontinued and might be hard to find.  There's enough freeware addons for this game to keep you occupied for a LONG time (including Europeah Touring Cars, American Lemans, old IMSA group C, FIA GT, as well as a variety of F1 seasons).

Other than playing both games I have no affiliation.
