Went to the Canadian Aviation Expo today at Oshawa Airport in lovely Oshawa Ontario. Plenty of stuff there even a FS2004 display. They had payware aircraft CDs for sale too but it's just way too expensive.

Lots of nice aircraft to look at. Airplane rides too but it was a tad too windy for one today.

This one looks live a Harvard (aka Texan) trainer to me.  Was one of the classic aircraft available for rides. Classic aircraft rides were $200.  Tongue  Cry
...

Tiger Moth at the classic airplane rides pavilion. She wasn't flying today.
...

This is one fine looking twin. A Beech Kingair 200 I believe. There was also a fine looking Cessna Caravan across from it but some arse hole walked in front of me while I was taking the picture.  Angry
...

Come to see her guts. The turboprop engine of a De Havilland Super Otter.
...

Two more groups of shots for your viewing pleasure.

The $40 was for sightseeing in a standard C172.

Quote:

Standard Aircraft Flight $ 40.00
20 – 30min

Helicopter Flight $ 50.00
8 – 10 min

Vintage War Bird Flight $ 250.00
20– 30min

The "Harvard" with fixed gear is called a Yale. This one looks like a Harvard to me.

Yup; this one's a Harvard from the CHAA. Smiley The Yale had large spats over the U/C; easily identified.

Lucky you; Iroquois - I was planning to go to the Expo this year but ran out of green meal - oh well; there's always next year. Smiley

Have another look Ace. The gear bay is quite clear in the shot. Also the bulge in the leading edge of the wing root to take the wheel. The gear retracts inwards with no doors.

Yeah; they're very easily mistaken for one another; one of the things that gets folks mistaking the Harvard for the Yale is its spindly-looking undercarriage. In fact; they're pretty beefy when you see them up close; just don't have the undercart doors to make them look bigger.
Here's a clear shot of a Yale - note the difference in gear design. Smiley
