Hi all...!
I splashed ot.the other day on Just Flight's VFR Scenery of England and Wales.

This scenery was photographed from the air by aeroplanes traversing the whole country under the name of "Get Mapping" a few years ago, and stiched together to show a photographic map of the whole of England and Wales.

http://www.justflight.com

...have produced a number of CD's to incorporate this data into FS 2002 and FS 2004
It lays the photo over the accurate bump-mapped scenery mesh.
Each CD is priced at £19:99.

At the moment I have:
1) Wales and the west of England.
2) Central and southern England.

I was a bit dubious of this scenery at first, thinking it's going to be "FLAT", like a photograph, but no, it is bump-mapped to represent the coutours of the areas, and having purchsed it and tried it out I am seriously impressed...!
Here are some examples of the screen-shots, (best from 1,500 - 2,000 ft. AGL)...!

My home city of Hereford, showing the city, the River Wye and the bridges over it. (My house appears on the scenery!!!)...!

...

Just to the south of me...Gloucester City, and the River Severn...

...

and for the benefit of Woodlouse...
RAF Culdrose airfield...Compare the correct runways and Microsofts version of the runways...!

...

and his local sea-side places...
Mevagissey...Near St Austell

...

and....
Falmouth Harbour...see the sail boats...!

...

Its really fun following the roads and motorways from one place to another following VFR rules al low altitudes...!
I followed the roads from by local airfield, EGBS, to my town of Hereford, amazingly accurate...!

Cheers all...!

Paul.

P.S. Note that some of the shots appear "out of focus". The scenery actually loads into focus at various intervals. Need to wait a while...
..(Needs a high-spec computer to do it justice. Massive loads on the processor and graphics card)...!

Apart from the purple runway in #3 it looks really nice Fozzer. How badly were your frame rates hit?

Hi Mark...!
No effect on frame rates at all on my set-up, (everything maxed), Locked at 25 FPS..it actually runs much higher... Grin...!

The purple runways are actually the photographic runways in their correct orientation, (Microsoft's are slightly out of position in some of the arears)...!

Last night I started from Cardiff airport, over the River Severn to Bristol, followed the M5 to Exeter, banked right to follow the A30 to Bodmin, then had to pack it in 'cos it was bed-time...LOL... Grin...!

Cheers Mark...!

Paul.

1,500 AGL, out of the range of the speed cameras, COOL or what...!
LOL...!
