Those models were the best available for a very long  time. They were trial versions of his payware. I still don't know how he did it with the available software. The Spitfire canopy should be open with the engine off. The door closes when you start the engine. I think the P-51 canopy opens when you select full flap or lower the gear. I don't remember now.

There were several different versions. Make sure you get the correct ones with the CFS props. There is also a beautiful Corsair with many repaints.
