Quote:i haven't read all 3 pages of this thread , but those words right there pretty much sums it up for me. too expensive of a hobby for me,**** it. . not to mention this is the ONLY game i have come across where you have to BUY all of the good mods (i.e. modifications/addons) what a crock.
i mod morrowind and GTA all of the time; no one ever tries to sell the mods, its ALL freeware for those games.
**** it, i eject.
Well, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, don't be so eager to throw the baby out with the bathwater. There's plenty of free stuff that nobody will charge you for (I got the Mackinac Bridge and several aircraft for free). Even without the mods, FS2004 is a great sim...
By the way, I've added stuff to Morrowind as well as to Neverwinter Nights, Half-Life, Jagged Allaince 2, etc.
Just hand in there pard...there's fun to be had.
One final note on payware: most of the stuff that is payware, is really excellent, by the way, are you saying that those who put such time and effort to create, test, and distribute (package, publish, and go through the rigamarole of licensing), do not have the right to charge for their time (if you think they are fat cats with the swimming pools, board rooms, etc., you'd better think again...)
