Anyone checked this out yet? If so what do you think, I've had it for a few days and haven't had enough time to figure out all the commands or go through the training session.

I bought the game a couple of months ago and fiddled with it for a couple of days. I haven't had the time to get back into the game as I was instructed by my boss to get my MCSA asap and now am one test away from acquiring the certification. Perhaps next month I'll have time. I do remember that a tweak was posted for the sim that significantly boosted the frames. In a scenery cfg file or something you had to change a value to equal that of the night settings and it doubled the frame-rate. I believe the post was on netwings or another such related site. But yeah, the graphics are awesome.

Am awaiting 1.2 patch.  Issue date was end of May so looks like continued fixes.
Spectacular graphics.
Highly complex.  Way beyond CFS2/3.
Run the Open Missions first.
No rendering problem my system. Runs smoothly.

Installed 1.01 to 1.02 patch.  System was not running right so uninstalled, reinstalled original and 100 to 102.  Solved initial problems.

Major F15 radar and missile fixes.
Also added a few keystokes to a complex sim.
PDoppler and TWS work fine now.  I'm slow to learn the significant number of keystrokes to operate the weapons system quickly and need 25 miles head on to get set up properly.

Missiles are far more effective and have better range.

Had to program my TMaster stick using the TM utility to get missiles and gun on separate stick buttons.  No luck in software.  Splitting guns and "release weapons" (code for missiles and bombs) is a new feature.

F-15 was very sensitive in pitch.  Found a pitch and roll axis sensitivity adjuster in Options which fixed.  Necessary.

Doubt that this sim will remain on my HD as it requires consistent use to keep up with the complexity.  Really great presentation for the motivated.

Scope and HUD F15 presentation is very good but not completely accurate.  Repeater digital read shows bogey speed, "aspect", and bogey heading.   Shows speed ok.  "Aspect" is really target bearing and not aspect as defined from bogey 6 or 0 aspect.  Bogey heading is grossly in error.   Not an issue for those who lock and shoot .  And there is so much data HUD and repeater that few notice.   Just watch the red target descriptors.

Sim runs smoothly my system.  9700P card helps.  Lots of complaints low end cards.

I still haven't had the time to learn this game, I've went through a few of the training sessions and you are right nickle, this isn't a game you can just jump into and start shooting at stuff, way more complex and I assume realistic than any other simulator I've ever messed with, just starting up the plane requires half a training session!
I have two weeks off in July, maybe I will mess with it then, it would be very cool once you get everything down.
Seems to run okay on my machine.

Keys to operate the Range While Scan/Track While Scan in the Training AN/APG -63 PD session: 13.

So complex that a RIO is needed to run the system.

Not all of them may be needed but that's the number for full control of radar azimuth, range, elevation and lock.

The demo is good.  Use "S" frequently to stop, read and study the VSD (Vertical Simulation Display) and HUD.

Amazing that programmers were clever enough to get these radar details in a sim.

Or save your money and spend it on the very cheap Falcon 4.
The graphics are nothing compared to LOMAC, but the controls are easier to handle and it has the (waaaaaaaaay) better campaign of the two games.
But you need some pacience if you download the tons of add-ons which are required to keep Falcon up-to-date.
Hey,never mind, they're free. Grin
And you'll get a proper printed 700-page manual instead of LOMACs poor 30-page one. Wink
