With a birthday on the horizon, it is again time to figure out what I want, as I am inevitably asked every year, thus perpetuating my annual loss for words, despite the fact that I always have ideas of things I'd like to get long before I'm ever asked.
Here's my question. I absolutely love the Saitek X-45 I've got. You all know that by now though.
But if I wanted to say...drop the X-45 stick, keeping the throttle, and add a yoke plus pedals, would I be able to do so, and if so, how?

Isn't your X-45 USB? I'd suggest keeping the stick but tuck it away somewhere. When I get home, I'll check the connections again, but I think the throttle must connect to the stick.
I have the following devices available for MSFS9 without conflict
Saitek X45
CH Prod. Flight yoke LE (USB)
CH Prod. Flight Yoke (PC)
CH Prod. Pro Rudders (USB)
GoFlight TQ-6 (USB)
------------------
TrackIR2 (USB)
When I switch from the Yoke to the X-45, I only change the axis settings. I leave all button assignments alone
If you don't have a USB hub, I recommend getting one that is externally powered.
What do computers and air conditioners have in common?
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Yes, the X-45 is USB, and the throttle connects to the back of the stick portion...I never thought about just switching axes...very good idea.
In all actuality, however, I've recently discovered that CH is releasing a throttle quadrant very soon, so I may just go that way instead.
Thanks just the same though!
