With a new server in place & nearly set up it will soon be time to move the forum files over.
This will inevitably mean freezing the forums for however long it takes - just did a quick check - 600MB & 139,000 files on the forums & that doesn't include the images ... it may take some time & I may have to drop old images again - so old avatars may be exterminated!
The rest of the site SHOULD transfer seamlessly - in other words the main site users will not even know anything has happened .. - if I've got things right .... but the forums will have to be put on hold during their transfer - I can't see any other way. Because they are live & in constant use any input during work causes major troubles.
Think Global. It's the world we live in.

The price of progress .. go for it Pete !
I hope Fozzer takes his own advice and "backs-up." It wouldn't be the same without that 20 year old photo of him and his bike - lolq (quietly.)

For a change over time I suggest the weekend of the 26th and 27th as I will be unable to go online for those two days anyway and so I won't notice, or be inconvenienced by the switch!
Woodlouse2002 PITA and BAR!!!!!!!!&&&&Our Sovereign Lord the King chargeth and commandeth all persons, being assembled, immediately to disperse themselves, and peaceably to depart to their habitations, or to their lawful business, upon the pains contained in the Act made in the first year of King George the First for preventing tumults and riotous assemblies. God Save the King.&&&&Viva la revolution!
