If you've got steady hands and nerves of steel try the Courchevel strip (LFLJ) in the French Alps at 1756 feet in length and 6,500 feet altitude I could not get either the Cessna 172 or 182 to achieve flying speed, but did manage to (just!) get the Mooney Bravo to takeoff just above the stall. Oh boy, what spectacular scenery there is in this area! For landing, only runway 05 is listed as an option. I failed to land on this runway as I could not get the Bravo to slow down sufficiently on the enforced steep descent. I finally put it down on runway 23 by going to the right of the trees and side-slipping in to the left, although this approach is apparently not permitted at Courchevel in the real world. Can anyone tell me how to get it down on runway 05?

Thanks for the link Ivan. I enjoyed seeing the real Courchevel. Because of its uniqueness I would have thought that FS2004 could have represented it better. The autogen trees in FS2004 are ridiculous, the way they grow right up to the end of runways. Surely the program writers could arrange a 'no grow' area for trees of a few hundred feet around airfields. Perhaps in FS2006?
