taxing and gps problems (Read 260 times)

when i start backing off the plane, press shift + p, and 1 or 2 to turn the tail left or right
the problem is 1 or 2 doesn't work, i pressed it and nothing happens?? Roll Eyes i already turn the numlock on or off, no effect

also when i am flying, i set the auto pilot to the right heading, after awhile the plane will not stay in the right course and i have to adjust the heading again, is this right??

For the push-back effect check your key commands. They may not be set to 1 or 2 for left and right.

For the other question, I think the problem is that when you set your flight plan to your destination (the red line in the GPS) it may have a "curve" to it (especially on long flights) So as it curves you veer offcourse because your set to only one heading. Try clicking on the NAV button instead of HDG  Grin

For pushback, after shift+p, use the 1 or 2 key at the top of the keyboard, NOT the ones on the numpad. Also do not push any other keys or change views between shift+p and 1 or 2 or the turn may not work.

When flying Hdg the AP simply keeps you pointed  in the chosen direction, rathar than aiming at a distant point. Several effects can cause your actual flight path to move off course.

The most notable is cross-wind, which pushes the plane sideways. Others are gyro-drift and magnetic deviation, which can both occur over time.

These are real world effects, and are compensated for by the pilot.

Also the airplane must roll back some before it starts to turn. I think it's one airplane length. Just have some patience with it and it will eventually turn.
