I just bought Flight Simulator 2004 about an hour ago.  I tried to do a flight but one problem.  The instrument panel isn't there.  Its just a black empty space.

Can anyone tell me what i have to do to have the panel appear?

Thanks in advance

I found out taht the virtual cockpit works just not the first cockpit.  That doesn't help that much b/c the guages (the ones you can see) are hard to read.  If anyone could help me out me out that'd be great.

Happens to most people.  Just update your drivers for your video card.  That's all you need to do!

I'm having the same problem and have already updated the drivers could there be something else that can be done?

If you're having the same problem, updating the drivers should work!  Make sure you've got the current drivers... other than that, I don't know of another way to fix it!

That's a longstanding problem with ATI video cards. If you are having the problem and have an ATI card the newest drivers should fix it. There was a big row about it back when ACOF was first released. As a workaround until ATI could update the drivers a lot of people found that running ACOF in windowed mode fixed the problem.

If you have updated the drivers and are still having the problem then you may not have gotten a good install with the new drivers. Uninstall your old drivers and then reinstall the new ones. You might want to get help from the support at ATI if you still experience the problem. They can tell you which files to remove.
