K, ex-gunners Slash and Duff formed a new band: Velvet Revolver, and have recently released "Contraband". Anyone else bought it? What do you think of it?

If someone with multiple personality disorder threatens suicide, is it a hostage situation?

Heard a couple of their tracks and can't say i'm overly excited, but they are a fairly decent band none-the-less.

I've also heard one or two of their songs and thought they were decent. But, I haven't put the money forth to buy their album, they haven't really impressed me enough to do that.

Haven't heard anything from them yet, does it sound more like Gun's 'n' Roses or Stone Temple Pilots?
They should have called the band Stone Temple Roses.

Or "Guns & Temples" But that might hurt sales due to the happenings in the Middle East. Grin

I saw a show on PBS about the music business and these guys were like the main topic. Some of the songs sounded ok but it is really nothing but G&R with a new singer. I'll have to check out the whole album before I can really give a better review.
Has anyone listened to Gene Simmons new solo album?
It looks to be a odd album can't wait to check it out!

I've only heard three songs but I think you guys are expecting too much. They are pretty decent and I will be buying it. Thats the problem with "supergroups" is that there is too much expected of them. They show real potential and their second album will show that I think

Well I got it today and let me say it isn't KISS.
Very different, mixed musically much different than his 1978 solo release. Concept album comes to mind.
But some really good songs. And performances with:
Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa and family (I know he is dead

) and a remake of Podigidy's Firestarter which in my opinion is actually listenable compared to the original.
I'm sure it isn't for everyone but you might like too check it out I think this will be a album that grows on you!
4 out of 5 stars. Wink

I saw the video for "Slither" this morning, I have also heard this song on the radio, the main riff sounds almost exactly like "Black Sunshine" by White Zombie.
I think Weiland is an okay singer but he acts as gay as a tree full of birds, maybe that's what constant heroin use does to you, (I understand he got sent back to rehab...again).
I like Slash, his guitar work with G'nR' was awesome, although I really didn't hear anything impressive on this particular track, my brother gave me the tape of Slash's snake pit, but I have never listened to it. I guess I figured if my brother is giving it away it must suck.

Overall I am happy to see Slash and Duff and Matt working again, I actually hope they do well, seeing as how Axl Rose destroyed Gun's and Rose's and screwed up everyone's career, Axl can rot for all I care, oh wait...he already is!

The alum is fairly decent.

There are a few stand out tracks and some filler but al in all a decent effort.

I hope the second album proves a classic even if their singer is a washed up flake (oh I'm getting deja vu).
