I was just reading an article on Toms Hardware guide about Linux - they had a link to this: http://www.flightgear.org/  

It runs on any OS, its free and looks quite good! (considering screenshots were taken with a 64mb card)

Has anyone had a go? I've never even heard about it before.  

Anyway - I thought it was interesting!

Yeah, I've seen it before.

I was going to download it at the time, but the only version they had available was the self-build one which you have to compile yourself, etc. Looked far too much hassle to me.
