I like to start FS9 without my engine running, however this causes that blue "Flying Tips" window to appear tell me to start my engine. Angry

Does anyone know where or how to deactivate this?

Steve

Disregard: I found it

Hmm not sure but is probably like the annoying "BRAKE" message that pops up. you can probably change something in the fs9.cfg to keep that from popping up. Kinda like the message that pops up whenever you fly a tail dragger about looking over the panel Roll Eyes

Steve, in Settings .... General, uncheck 'Show Cockpit Tool Tips'

If you want to start at airport X, gate Y with engines etc off, go there switch everything off and save the flight as your default flight.

Your wishes will all be granted Wink

No need to wait until FS2006 for such things as some poor unfortunate wants to in one of the other threads. Grin

Goes to show yet again, much of the criticsim of this sim is due to lack of knowledge.

Hay Rollerball  I agree, why wait when you can do it yourself.

Actualy I found how to turn the "Flying Tips" off, Its in the realism settings.

But as you said the cockpit tips are in the general settings, they've been off for a long time now.

Haven't seen the one in the tail dragger, probley because I'm to short to see over the panel anyway Wink

Thanks for the replys

Steve

Q) How do I turn off the red "brakes" messages?

A) Add this line in the FS9.CFG [SIM] section:
SHOW_BRAKE_MESSAGE=0

Cheers,
Dave
