Well, no sooner had I arrived at Duxford this morning when this happened.
...
Sorry sight. BBMF’s Hurricane IIc LF363 on its nose after suffering a starboard undercarriage collapse whilst taxiing in at Duxford.
...
Members of the emergency services help the Duxford crew to get 363 back on its wheels.
...
Hanging from the crane.
...
After a couple of hours work, 363 is standing again.

Thankfully no one was hurt, there was no fire and the crowd were never in any danger. The emergency services were very, very quick to react.
LF363 looks to have come through the incident quite well. Clearly the wooden prop is smashed and the engine has no doubt taken a knock. The undercarriage will also no doubt need some work. Lets hope that this wonderful aircraft is soon fixed up and back in the skies again.

Cry thank god it was during taxi, i would hate to think of the result on takeoff or landing.
Looks like he should be fixed up pretty quickly though.

In wartime, it would have been flying again in a day or so.  Now?

Terrible news Sad
At least no-one was hurt, and Felix I'm sure she'll be fixed-up in next to no-time as they keep a fair array of spares.

Oops. That is a sad sight. At least good ol' Tempest was there to record it. These shots are better than we will see in any magazine or newspaper. Well done.

As Craig said, it's a good job it wasn't taking off or landing. Wonder what happened.

As the Hurri was landing, Ozzy flew inverted under it in a Pou de Ciel and nudged the retraction jack.

What a sorry sight. Sad Rather surprising for the pilot! I shouldn't think he was expecting that!
