Hello guys, i recently downloaded the Kai Tak Scenery, but its incredible Unplayable. i get 5-8 FPS on it... and my FPs never drops from 30 in chicago O´Hare, for example. my settings are all in Ultra High. And also some others add on Scenery are totally unplayable like LAX and Barajas. Is normal that? or i have a big problem?

Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure why F.R vary but I think it depends on how much space the add on takes up on your computer. For example, say you download Los Angeles sceneryand it takes up 12.5 MB. Frame rates would be higher because your computer has to work harder when your in that area of FS. On the other hand a 32K add-on would have better F.R since it doesn't take up that much space. Another reason is how powerful your computer is. A not-so-powerful one may not be able to handle the large files  Wink Grin

Kai Tak (if its Roger Moles one) is a little bit FPS intensive! The new Duxford scenery is also. Unfortunately the better and more realistic the scenery the harder it tends to hit the system.
You can reduce the problem in a number of ways. Turn down AI, shadow effects on the ground, and even go for neutral weather will all give you gains Wink

Have you tried Eddie Batista's Fps-Patch for FS9 It improves frame rates without to much loss in Scenery Quality.
If you want a copy give me your e-mail address and I will send it to you. Captnrick

I dont have any FPS problems in FS2004, is only with Kai Tak by Roger Moles. But well, if this FPS patch works fine, send me it please, flyingfinn2@telefonica.net

Aerosoft's Manhattan scenery is also hurts framerates. Any scenery that adds a bunch of 3d objects is going to make a difference.
When flying around Manhattan, I turn GA AI traffic off and bring commercial AI down to about 60%. My autogen is also set at very dense and I keep my weather at 30 miles visibility with only light or no clouds.  - Matt D.
