HERE WE GO AGAIN,,  WHAT DOES ILS STAND FOR AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN? MY FLYING IS PRETTY GOOD, MY CLIMBING AND MY DESCENT. I KNOW WHERE FLAPS SHOULD BE FOR TAKE OFF AND LANDING. ITS JUST THE TECHNICAL THINGS THAT I'M GETTING MORE INTERESTED IN NOW. I'M SURE YOU BUDDING PILOTS CAN SORT ME OUT Wink

Short summary :  ILS stands for Instrument landing system. Two radio beacons located at the far end of the runway you're landing on: Localizer (horizontal guidance) and glideslope (vertical guidance) assists the pilot, and the autopilot can even execute autolandings by using ILS. But I suggest you read those links, they will make it very clear  Smiley
